I first heard about James Hall from a review in Q magazine of the
Geffen Records release, Pleasure Club. It was released
two days before my 21st birthday. With some spare
birthday cash, I picked up the album.
The album changed my whole outlook on music and has
influenced my own music more than anything else I've
heard.
Back in those days I had no computer and no internet
access so I had no way finding out more about the man
behind the music. I didn't even know what the band
looked like.
Fast forward a few years, I was in the early stages of
learning about web design. I decided that a James Hall
site might be a good project to get me started.
After some research I found that James had a new band,
new songs and I could finally put a face to the name.
The heatwave radio site started somewhere around 2002,
just around the time that Pleasure Club headed over to
London and played one of the most stunning, raw and dirty
live shows I've ever seen.
I haven't had much time to keep on top of the site lately,
for various reasons, but I'm trying to get my shit together
so I can fit everything in.
Uhn!
